At the 2009 AMO nationals in St. Louis the Lanthrip's introduced their latest project, a 1971 (or is it 1972?) Javelin Pro Street.
This car is several inches longer then stock, sports a old Chrysler cross ram intake with the carburetors just about on the inside fenders.
With suicide doors, 1970 AMX hood scoop and lots more, a one of a kind no doubt.

racing at various tracks throughout the southeast.  Road Atlanta, just a short tow from Jeff's home
in Dacula, GA is home track for this racer.  This car was built by Irv Hoerr for the IMSA RS series.
He campaigned the car for a couple of years successfully and the car was  then sold and went through a
succession of owners, finally ending up with Jeff.   Picture below you see Jeff once again out front at
an event at Road Atlanta in late 2008.

Jeff Barfield's 1969 Javelin SST.  It has a 343, automatic, ps,pb, tilt wheel and cruise control.
He bought this car from is dad in 1977 when he was a senior in high school. The car was driven
daily for many years, it is now driven only occasionally.  The car is not trailered and has been driven
to the AMO nationals in Missouri, Michigan, Connecticut, Wisconsin, North Carolina and Ohio.
Jeff's Javelin has been on television on the show American Muscle Car and was also featured in 2
movies:  Dumb and Dumber and more recently as Matthew McConoughey's car in "We Are Marshall"

Jeff purchased this car in 1999 as a 40th birthday present for himself
(strange car for a mid-life crisis, but to each his own).  He had the car
painted and changed the color from the original yellow to dark brown
and the interior has also been redone.  Jeff was able to do most of the
work himself, with some help from his friends (also named Jeff).
The car was driven daily for a couple of years but is now relegated
                                                                   to "spare car status".

Doug Noland's 1970 AMX has won many awards at
several World of Wheels shows throughout the South.

Pertronix ignition and original paint.  P
urchased 1997 with 70,000
miles, it had been sitting in woods for 14 years with rotted tires,
bad brakes and a gas tank was patched with fiberglass.  It also
had a bent LR axle, damaged LR quarter and the A/C compressor
was removed.  Jeff has upgraded to front disc brakes, electronic
ignition, and removed the rotted vinyl top and painted that area
black. The suspension has been rebuilt, axle replaced,  new tires
added and while the engine runs great it is still a work in progress.

Bruce Griffis's 1964 Rambler American has lived in Georgia all it's life.
Purchased from the original owner it is a work in progress, so far he has
had to un-seize the engine with some serious engine work thrown in.
The brakes have been rebuilt, fuel tank cleaned and lots of other odds
and ends that goes along with restoring a 44 year old car. He and his
sons have done all the work so far (with the help of a friend). Bruce still
has lots left to do to the car but his sons love driving it, learning how to
drive a  3 on the tree car.

Bruce's sons are really getting into this project!!
