WELCOME TO PEACH STATE AMO
The club holiday party was held on Dec. 12th at the home of Jeff & Geneva Puras with a great turnout. Santa even attended (also known as club member Doug Sears), you can see him below with a big smile generated by having Karen sit on his lap and giving him her Christmas wish (and perhaps fullfilling his). A good time was had by all, great food and of course the climax was the ornament exchange. PSAMO also supplie gifts for it's members who had not won a prize at the prior meetings, a STP faced neon clock and weather station.

South East Regional Show, Ocala, FL
The Southeast Regional AMO show was held at the Garlits Drag racing museum on Saturday, November 7th in conjunction with the Florida Mopar Association show. The show was hosted by First Coast AMC and they did a wonderful job, having 45+ cars on the AMC showfield. There were six Peach State AMO members in attendance: Doug Noland, Louie and Carol Lanthrip, Doug Baker, Steve Abercrombie and Jim Graubard. Doug Noland was awarded Gold for his 1970 AMX as was Louie and Carol Lanthrip for their one of a kind 1971 Javelin custom creation. Jim Graubard also won gold and Doug Baker and Steve Abercrombie were awarded a silver. Jim's car was also received the host club choice award (thier version of best in show). The Lanthrips also won first place people's choice for AMC and Doug Baker took 2nd place. On Sunday Doug Baker was awarded first place in the AMC/Rambler class in the Mopar judging. I will post more pictures if I get them, as forgot my camera on this trip.

Hilton Head Concours d'Elegance
The weekend of Oct. 31-Nov.1 saw Jim & Christina Graubard have both of their cars on the showfield of the Hilton Head Concours d'Elegance show. Jim's AMX was in the American Performance class and Christina's Javelin AMX was in the pony car class. Much to their amazement both cars received the Hilton Head Palmetto award in their respective class. The event was a world class experience with some of the finest show cars in the country on hand. Major sponsors such as Porshe, Jaguar, Mercedes and BMW had cars on had to test drive as well. This kind of show is something I recommend to all car enthusiasts to attend at least once. Jim wanted to especially thank club member David Campbell who hauled one of their cars down to Hilton Head, it would not have been possible to have both there without his help.

Jim drove the Javelin up to the awards presentation.........................while Chris drove the AMX to accept her award

2009 AMO International Convention
Collinsville, IL July 16-18
The 2009 AMO show was held just east of St. Louis this year with several PSAMO members in attendance. George Doughtie, Jeff Barfield, Louie and Carol Lanthrip, Karen and Steve O'Neal, Bud Turner and Bobbie Mistretta and Chris and Jim Graubard. It was a very nice show, weather was really great, low 80's at the most and no rain. I suspect that with Jeff Barfield attending he provided the good weather and I think the St. Louis club should send him a big thank you. Jeff won the Great American Road award as top car in the driven class with his 1969 Javelin. Bud Turner received an award for participation in the prestigious American Cup. Louie and Carol Lanthrip's 1972 Javelin and Jim Graubard's 1972 Javelin AMX both won a gold junior award and were advanced to the senior level, the only two Javelins in the non-stock class to do so. George brought up the AMX race car he and Jeff Puras have raced, a vintage AMX that was sponsored back in the day by a St. Louis AMC dealer. You can see it in the picture below smack in the middle of the other famous SS/AMX racers that were on display, making for the largest reunion of SS/AMX's in 40 years. For more show pictures go to the AMO national shows page.

Louie and Carol Lanthrip's 1972 Javelin was something else. Probably not another Javelin like this on the planet!! Check out the intake, doors, etc.

May 16th saw five Peach State AMO cars in attendance at the downtown Norcross car show. Jeff Puras's '68 AMX, Karen & Steve O'Neal's black 1969 AMX and Ron Frost's '70 AMX gave the spectators a view of all three years of the AMC two seater. Doug Baker's 1966 Rambler American 440 wagon and Jim Graubard's '72 Javelin AMX rounded out the Peach State showing. While mother nature made her wet presence during a good part of the day attendance at the show was very good with several hundred cars lining the streets of downtown Norcross.

On Saturday, May 2nd 2009 the 7th annual Landmark Southern Mopar Classic show was held at Atlanta Motor Speedway. With what must have been around 250 vehicles on the show field 5 Peach State AMO members were in attendance. Doug House and his son DJ brought their Javelin AMXs with DJ winning an award for his car. Steve and Karen O’Neal had their black '69 AMX in attendance but being they had volunteered to help with the show they missed out on having their car judged. Due to his work schedule Ron Frost was only able to make it to the show late in the day with his beautiful 1970 AMX and Jim Graubard was present with his 1972 Javelin AMX. This show is one of the nicest around with lots to do as there was drag racing and anyone who wanted to was allowed to take their car around the Atlanta Motor Speedway track. Hats off to the North Georgia Mopar Club for another outstanding show. With the state of Chrysler these days wonder if there will be an 8th? Here are a few pictures from the show.

On February 21st Ron Frost, Doug Baker and Kevin Smith attended the Cops and Rodders show in South Atlanta with their AMcs and over $6,000 was raised for charity.
